Psychotherapy for Anxiety
What does anxiety feel like? Anxiety is an emotion experienced by feelings of worry, tension, and uneasiness. You may feel a lack of control or even anger because you’re feeling so uncertain. There can even be physical changes, like tightness in your chest, finding it hard to breathe, shakiness, or increased blood pressure.
If you’re experiencing anxiety, you may have recurring intrusive thoughts or concerns. You may find yourself avoiding certain situations or people out of worry.
In today’s uncertainty, you may be experiencing generalized anxiety. However, there are many other types of anxiety, including phobia, panic disorder, agoraphobia, social anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Feeling anxious? Anxiety can be treated, and with cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), you can learn to identify triggers or challenging thought patterns and change how you respond to them.
